CCS Partnered With Helping Individuals Reach Employment Dreams (H.I.R.E.D.) for a Question and Answer Session for Starting and Running a Business for Middle School Students.
CSS’ founder, Mollie, volunteered her time to ask and answer some questions these middle school students had regarding what goes into opening and running a small business. Thanks to their craft fair that they have coming up, the students had some great questions! Some of the topics that were covered in the Q&A session were:
Pricing- How to price products
Operations- What it takes to run a business and manage its operations.
Success stories of businesses.
Marketing- how to market your business and its products/services.
Funding- funding options that businesses can take advantage of.
Mollie answered questions related to starting and running a business and was to help pass on information and stories she said she “wish she had known back in the day,” such as that perfection is an illusion, and others. She and all of us here in the CCS team love volunteering and helping the younger generation understand how businesses work. This event was an excellent experience for everyone in attendance.
What is H.I.R.E.D?
H.I.R.E.D! (Helping Individuals Reach Employment Dreams) is a partnership between the Walton Family Foundation, the Arkansas Public Resource Center, several NWA school districts, business and industry leaders, and post-secondary educators.
The goal of H.I.R.E.D. is to impact students by creating opportunities for them to explore and identify realistic career opportunities and identify potential paths to achieve their career goals. The business and education communities provide high-quality vocational information and career guidance for the students, which helps them recognize the education, training, and employment paths necessary for their career choices.
